She needed a cultural attachment which I think could have helped her find herself. This entire book read like the classic Black girl that only has white friends and it she needed perspective. 1) I desperately wanted/ needed Truly to have at least one Black friend. With all of that said, this book wasn’t it. I think they can be really great and offer a different perspective in the romance genre. I’ll start by saying, I love a dark bully romance. I felt all the anguish, angst, love, confusion, anger of each and every character. Lacy Laurel told this story with so much emotion. This is a dark, steamy, bully romance, that their relationship is toxic/complicated/ steamy. Noah has to earn her love in order to win her back. As she gets to know him, Truly is falling for him.

She doesn't want anything to do with him, but he is persistant.

Noah is arrogant, pushy, obsessed and possessive when it comes to Truly. Truly ex's brother, Noah, invited himself. Becca invited her boyfriend to tag along. She wanted to get closer To her mom and have get the same life experiences. Truly planned this trip with her bestie, Becca. All her mother's thoughts and dreams are written in there. This is a trip that her mom wrote about in her journal. It couldn't come soon enough, after her boyfriend of 2 years humiliated and broke up with her at graduation. Truly has been waiting for years to go on a cross country trip. I got into it even more this time around and I so enjoyed that! This story it’s characters brought out my emotions in so many ways throughout! With Truly, Ms.Rhodes has created such a good and dark story that'll make you feel SO much! I am so looking forward to picking up more of her work soon! I am definitely going to be listening to more of Lacy Laurel's narration soon as well! She was so great! Once again this story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and didn't let go! Truly and Noah's journey isn't an easy one.

I enjoyed this listen so very much! I've been wanting to listen to more of Lacy Laurel's narration and i am so glad that i got the chance to with Truly! I loved how she captured the emotions in this story with her narration. As soon as this audiobook was announced i knew i had to listen to it! I started it as soon as i could and got into this world. Having picked up Truly when it released I've been wanting to get into it for a second time.
